Some dreams begin with a business plan.

Ours began with resilience, family, creativity, and a camera.

Long before Villa Mirabela became a European-inspired wedding and event venue in North Carolina, the journey started with Fofia Studio Creation — a photography and creative brand built from passion, perseverance, and the desire to tell meaningful stories.

For founder Mirabela Kruger, photography was never just about taking pictures. It was about preserving emotion, documenting life’s most meaningful chapters, and creating beauty even during difficult seasons.

Fofia Studio Creation was inspired by family in the deepest sense. The name itself carries part of that story — “Fofia” came from Mirabela’s daughter Sofia, who pronounced her own name with an “F” as a child. Her son Hunter, lovingly known as “Captain Hunter,” also became part of the heart behind the brand after enduring an incredibly difficult medical journey during his early years.

What began with a simple camera and a determination to create eventually evolved into a full creative studio known for wedding photography, real estate media, branding imagery, editorial storytelling, and luxury client experiences.

Over the years, Mirabela became known not only for her artistic eye, but for the experience she created for clients — personal, intentional, emotional, and deeply detail-driven. Couples often arrived as clients and left feeling like lifelong friends. That philosophy became the foundation for everything that followed.

As the business grew, so did the vision.

After years of capturing weddings at venues across the region, Mirabela began dreaming of creating a place that felt different — a venue that transported guests somewhere timeless and romantic without ever leaving North Carolina.

A place inspired by European architecture, garden romance, elegant hospitality, and meaningful experiences.

That dream eventually became Villa Mirabela.

Nestled on acres of picturesque landscape in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Villa Mirabela was designed to feel like stepping into another world. With ivy-covered architecture, manicured gardens, winding paths, elegant stone details, and an atmosphere inspired by the romance of an Italian countryside villa, the venue quickly became known as one of the area’s hidden gems.

But Villa Mirabela was never meant to be “just another venue.” It was created as an experience.

From intimate elopements to full wedding weekends, the vision was to offer couples something deeply personal — a boutique, white-glove approach where creativity, storytelling, design, and hospitality all come together seamlessly.

Today, the venue blends everything that started the journey years ago:

  • Photography and storytelling
  • Design and aesthetics
  • Family and legacy
  • Meaningful relationships
  • And the belief that beautiful experiences should feel effortless and unforgettable

What makes Villa Mirabela especially meaningful is that every corner reflects a piece of the journey. The creative eye behind the photography evolved into the artistic direction behind the venue. The passion for helping couples feel seen became the heart of the guest experience. The challenges that once shaped resilience became part of the foundation that built this dream into reality.

Recently, Mirabela’s story and entrepreneurial journey were featured in Bold Journey Magazine, highlighting the passion, perseverance, and purpose behind both brands.

Villa Mirabela is more than a venue, it is the continuation of a story years in the making.

A story built on creativity.

A story built on family.

A story built on believing that even the most ambitious dreams can become reality with enough heart behind them.

And in many ways — this is only the beginning.
